Art has been part of Petie McKinley’s life since childhood growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. Her mom was an artist in her own right so there was always an ample supply of paint, brushes and encouragement. After graduating from Northwestern University, Petie worked in several advertising art capacities, recently she has freelanced as a graphic designer and illustrator for advertising agencies and organizations.She has, however, never has stopped painting. Petie combines polished draftsmanship, a keen eye for design and creative experience in her paintings. She pushes realism to unusual perspectives and frequently tries new mediums and techniques. Versatile, she works in watercolors, watercolor monoprints, acrylics, colored pencils, mixed media and pastels, both oil and soft. |
